CREW

A place for adolescents to grow, learn, and become their best selves, together.

Our Mission…

CREW by Equity Associates is on a mission remove obstacles that hinder access to high-quality mental health services for schools & adolescents.

Through CREW by Equity Associates, we offer specialized mental health group coaching to schools & adolescents

  • Our online services are a great way to promote access to mental health care for teens. By using our online services, teens can receive the help they need from the comfort of their own homes, without having to worry about transportation or other logistics that might get in the way of receiving care. This is especially important for teens who may not have access to mental health care due to location, financial, or other barriers.

  • Offering CREW as an integrated part of an adolescent’s school day is another way to promote access to mental health care for teens. By providing this service during the school day, students are able to receive the support they need without having to worry about missing important academic instruction. This can also help reduce stigma around mental health care by normalizing the idea that taking care of one’s mental health is just as important as taking care of one’s physical health.

  • CREW also offers evening and weekend sessions, which can be beneficial for teens who have busy schedules during the day or who may not be able to attend during school hours. This flexibility can help ensure that teens are able to receive the care they need, no matter what their schedule may be.

  • We offer CREW for adolescents ages 10-18 years old to ensure that young people have access to mental health care during a critical time in their development. By providing age-appropriate care, we are able to address the unique challenges that teens may face during this stage of their lives.

  • Finally, we call it CREW to decrease any stigma teens may associate with classes or counseling. By using a different term, we hope to make teens feel more comfortable seeking help and engaging in mental health care. This helps to promote access to mental health care by reducing the barriers that might prevent teens from seeking the help they need.

“Surround yourself with people who challenge you, teach you, and push you to be your best self.”

Welcome to CREW by Equity Associates, where we provide a safe and supportive space for young people to grow and address their unique challenges. We understand that adolescence can be a challenging time, filled with social pressures, academic stress, and difficult life transitions. Our goal is to help teens navigate these challenges by providing a supportive community, drawing on evidence-based coaching techniques integrated in a directive group coaching model.

CREW is group coaching designed specifically for teens, with topics and activities that are relevant and engaging. CREW is guided by a team of experienced coaches who are licensed school counselors trained in evidence-based mental health interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy coaching, mindfulness-based coaching, and dialectical behavior therapy coaching. Within our CREW  we are committed to providing a safe and non-judgmental environment where teens can feel comfortable sharing their experiences and challenges.

We believe that every teen deserves the opportunity to grow and thrive, and we are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to all of the young people we serve.

We believe that group interactions are essential to a teenager’s growth and development.

By working with peers in a supportive and non-judgmental environment, teens can learn important social skills and build meaningful relationships.

We know working in groups is not only beneficial for academic and social growth, but it can also have a positive impact on teenage mental health. A group provides a sense of belonging and community, which can be especially important for teenagers who may be struggling with feelings of isolation or loneliness.

Participating in group activities can also help alleviate stress and anxiety. By working together towards a common goal, teenagers can feel a sense of purpose and accomplishment, which can boost self-esteem and confidence. In addition, group work can provide a support system for teens who are going through difficult times, such as dealing with a personal issue or facing a mental health challenge.

By working in groups teenagers develop coping strategies and resilience. Through collaboration and communication, teens can learn how to problem-solve and manage conflicts in a healthy and constructive manner. These skills can translate into other areas of their lives and help them navigate challenges more effectively.

Working in groups is a powerful tool for improving teenage mental health. By fostering a sense of community, providing support, and teaching important skills, group work can help teenagers develop the emotional intelligence and resilience needed to thrive.

Group Coaching vs Group Counseling

Group coaching and counseling are two ways to work with a group of people to achieve a common goal. They have some differences. Group coaching is more structured and helps solve problems. Counseling is more about addressing emotional and psychological issues using various therapeutic modalities.

The main difference between a counselor and a coach is the focus of their work. Counselors are trained to diagnose and treat mental illness, and their primary goal is to identify and alleviate symptoms. Coaches, on the other hand, help people set and achieve goals by providing motivation and encouragement. While there is some overlap between the two roles, with counselors sometimes emphasizing clients strengths and coaches sometimes addressing obstacles to goal achievement, the fundamental difference lies in the emphasis on symptom reduction versus goal attainment.

At Equity Associates, we have both coaching and counseling groups to help your teen. Our CREW program offers a coaching group that helps with social and emotional skills, mindfulness techniques, and career awareness. No matter which group your teen participates in, they will get valuable support and guidance from their peers. At Equity Associates, we believe group interactions are essential for your teen’s mental health skill building and well-being.
