Individual Coaching vs Individual Counseling
Individual coaching and counseling are two ways to work with adolescents to achieve their goals and address their emotional and psychological issues. Coaching and counseling have some differences. Individual coaching is more structured and focuses on setting and achieving goals. Counseling is more about addressing emotional and psychological issues using various therapeutic modalities.
The main difference between a counselor and a coach is the focus of their work. Counselors are trained to diagnose and treat mental illness, and their primary goal is to identify and alleviate symptoms. Coaches, on the other hand, help people set and achieve goals by providing motivation and encouragement. While there is some overlap between the two roles, with counselors sometimes emphasizing clients strengths and coaches sometimes addressing obstacles to goal achievement, the fundamental difference lies in the emphasis on symptom reduction versus goal attainment.
At the link, we offer both individual coaching and counseling to help your teen. Our online services remove proximity limitations, ensuring that all those in need have access. Our coaches are trained in evidence-based coaching techniques, including cognitive-behavioral coaching, mindfulness-based coaching, and dialectical behavior therapy coaching. Our counselors are licensed professionals trained in various therapeutic modalities to help address a wide range of mental health issues.

Costs to Clients and Families
Equity Associates is committed to eliminating barriers to accessing quality mental health services for youth in rural communities and this is reflected in our reasonable fee structure. We are in network with most major insurance providers across the state of Colorado, including Medicaid, CHP+ and Rocky Mountain Health Plans. If you are a member of any of these insurance companies, check with your insurance company to make sure behavioral health services are covered and if you have an associated co-pay. The fee for teletherapy services when a client chooses to self-pay is based on a sliding scale and depends on the household income. Please contact us for more information on self-pay rates.
Notice to clients and prospective clients:
Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
